Alt Text Best Practices
- Be specific and concise - describe what's in the image
- Don't start with 'Image of' or 'Picture of' - screen readers announce it's an image
- Include text that appears in the image
- Describe the purpose, not just appearance, for functional images
- Keep it under 125 characters when possible
- Use empty alt (alt="") for decorative images only
- Consider the context - what information does this image convey?
